Alaska Salmon Fishing
Salmon fishing at Redoubt Mountain Lodge is world class. In Alaska, it begins in early July with the arrival of Kings and Sockeye and continues into October with fresh Silvers (Co-Ho) salmon still entering the river in late September.
Sockeye (Red) salmon are the first to arrive – about July 4th. They continue to migrate through the Crescent River and into the lake for 3 or 4 weeks. Over 75,000 enter the river and catching your limit of 3 is usually quite easy.
King salmon also arrive in early July. We are located across Cook Inlet from the world famous Kenai River, which produced the world record salmon.
Our King salmon are apparently of the same genetics and average over 40lbs. We caught King salmon
weighing over
70lbs in 2005! This is a catch and release trophy fishery as the season closes June 30th.
Silver salmon arrive at the lake in mid-August. Fishing is great through September; Fly fishermen regularly get limits of 3 salmon. Spinner and bait fishing is even more productive.
Whatever you choose, King salmon, Sockeye salmon or Silver salmon, Alaskan salmon fishing at Redoubt Mountain Lodge is exciting and productive.
