Kayaking

Kayaking options abound at Redoubt Mountain Lodge. Whether guests wish to enjoy flat water lake paddling or more adventurous river kayaking, there is something for everyone! All types of adventure options exist! Guided & non-guided tours are available.

Flat-Water Kayaking

Take in all the sights and sounds that Lake Clark National Park has to offer from the seat of a kayak. Both single and double person touring kayaks are available for guest use anytime throughout the day. These boats are extremely stable and suitable for both first time and advanced paddlers. Start your excursion from the lodge and explore areas our motorized boats are unable to access.

Paddle within an arm length of thousands of Sockeye Salmon or just follow a Brown Bear and her cubs as they forage along the shoreline. Kayak to a trail head to enjoy a short hike to a beautiful waterfall. Paddle over to Pyramid Creek to watch bears feed on spawning Salmon before making your way back to the lodge.

River Kayaking

Explore some of the more remote regions of our area with nothing but the sound of moving water and the surrounding wildlife. Experience a remote back country float trip by way of inflatable kayak (IK). Adventurers can choose from one of the many braids of the Upper Crescent River to relish a exciting and stunningly beautiful float through pristine wilderness. These boats are sit-on-top style, extremely stable, easy to maneuver and great for both first time & advanced paddlers. Guides will accompany to ensure a safe trip through this gorgeous valley.
