Why RML

Involved Company Owners & Management

When deciding on an Alaskan Adventure, clients have the right to speak directly with those that will be tending to their needs while on vacation; especially those directly involved with guiding & preparing meals. Ryan & Heather, Lodge Managers (and also guide & cook), field all inquiries whether phone, email or Facebook throughout the entire year.

High Staff-to-Guest Ratio

RML accommodates 12-14 overnight guests tended to by 15 full-time staff.

Overnight trips have one guide to every 2 to 3 guests. RML does not combine groups (unless guests request to do so). If you are a group of 2, you will have your own guide. The guides at RML provide in-depth instruction, area knowledge and extra care ensuring your comfort and enjoyment.

Superior Quality of Boats & Equipment

RML prides itself on providing top of the line equipment for guest use. When fishing, guests can expect to have either G-Loomis, Redington or Sage fishing rods in their hands with a combination of Ross, Abu Garcia, Shimano or Redington reels. Reels are re-lined & serviced regularly. Breathable style Simms & Cabelas chest waders are provided for guests. Our river boats are 18' flat bottom Jon boats, ideal for running in very shallow water. Our lake boats are 18' v-hulls in addition to our canopy covered (fully enclosed) pontoon boats. All boats operate clean running 4-stroke yamaha outboards.

Prepared for Emergencies

Each RML staff member is trained in “remote location response” and certified in CPR & First Aid.

Activities in the “Alaskan Bush” of any kind have inherent risks. While RML takes every precaution to mitigate risk, you can be certain that our staff and equipment are prepared to handle emergencies that may arise.

Quality of Our Cuisine

RML's delicious meals are made on-site every day, utilizing the freshest ingredients available. Menus are structured with variety & incorporate recipes appealing to a host of palates. Meals are prepared to provide nourishment to keep you fueled for your Alaskan Adventure! Dietary restrictions & food allergies are not a problem (advanced notice required). Complimentary beer & wine are provided; including Alaskan Amber on tap!

Comfortable Accommodations

Our 6 guests cabins are spread out over the 5-acre property to ensure privacy, peace & quiet.

Each cabin has en-suite shower, sink, toilet, electricity, central heating, a queen and twin bed. The gazebo hot tub & wood-fired sauna are wonderful amenities to enjoy. Internet, phone & satellite TV available.

Assistance with Pre & Post Trip Lodging

RML provides recommended Anchorage lodging where guests receive a preferred rate for stays before or after their adventure.

Environmental Integrity

RML has always been an active supporter of river, wilderness & wildlife conservation. RML practices catch & release with our native trout species while also encouraging guests to only retain an amount of Salmon that they will consume. When viewing wildlife, RML is very careful to not disturb their free-ranging activity. RML is dedicated to "Leave No Trace" ethics. It is our philosophy to leave nature better than how we found it.

Social Responsibility & Giving Back

As responsible business owners & operators we all must work within a sustainable area of social, economic & environmental impact. At Redoubt Mountain Lodge we believe very strongly in maintaining this balance which is evidenced in our intimate size and close attention to minimizing our footprint.

Another responsible tourism core value is giving back. We do this in a number of ways and with a variety of organizations.

Each year we contribute to both local and nationally recognized non-profit & charitable organizations. RML is proud to work with the following organizations: Make-A-Wish Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, Caddies for the Cure & Convenant House Alaska.

Commitment to Risk Management

RML has invested in the quality of its risk management practices by continued training of all its staff. In addition to being CPR & First Aid certified, all RML staff complete a yearly "remote location response" training program that takes places on site. In order to minimize risk of wilderness activities, we have invested significant time and resources to develop these practices for the peace-of-mind and well-being of our guests.

Location

Redoubt Mountain Lodge is the only lodge and privately owned property on the 9-mile long, glacier-fed Crescent Lake. The surrounding area is Lake Clark National Park & Preserve. RML lies in the heart of the 4–5,000' tall Chigmit Mountains, with clear views of the 10,197' Mt. Redoubt a mere 8-miles away.

Passion for What We Do

We are driven by service and providing life-changing wilderness experiences. Our entire staff genuinely cares and is motivated by a love of wilderness, adventure, travel, and providing superlative guest service.
